Eastern European public business leaders must acquire new skills as a result of the monopolistic public sector's exposure to both domestic and foreign competition. Through the lens of mindfulness, this study investigates whether the age-old practice of yoga could improve the helpful behaviour and cultural intelligence of business executives in a transitional economy. The results of the study showed that yoga practises significantly improved participants' helping conduct and cultural intelligence. About two thirds of the influence on helpful behaviour can be attributed to higher mindfulness, with the remaining one third coming from yoga practice. In terms of cultural intelligence, 88% of the benefit comes from mindfulness, while the remaining 12% comes directly from yoga practices.
