This paper presents a comparative study between approximate manual methods and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using STAAD Pro in the structural analysis of tall buildings, focusing on a rigid frame system. The study evaluates the accuracy, efficiency, and practicality of each method across different building heights, considering wind loads as the primary external force. Results indicate that while manual methods are reliable for buildings up to 25 storeys, FEA provides more detailed insights and accuracy, especially for higher storeys and complex structures.
