Let ⋆ be a star operation on a ring extension R⊆S. The ring extension is said to be a generalized ⋆-greatest common divisor (G- ⋆GCD) extension if the intersection of two ⋆-invertible ideals of R is ⋆-invertible. We investigate properties of G- ⋆GCD extensions. We give special attention to polynomial rings and Nagata rings.
