This article focuses on gesture production during video-mediated L1/L2 interaction. We use a corpus made up of two types of video-mediated interactions in order to study gesture visibility from two points of view. The first group is made up of future French teachers in training who practice teaching their L1 to learners of French. The second group is made up of L1 English and L1 French learners who interact in order practice speaking their respective L2s. By comparing the webcam recording to that of an external camera, we analyze the gesture visibility of interlocutors between these two groups in order to test a method that has the potential to determine whether or not teacher training could have an effect on gesture production.
