How Did Homer End Up in Sandžak? (Avdo Međedović's Oral Epic and Historical-Developmental Processes and Phenomena of Bosniak Literature and Culture)

This paper examines the emergence of Avdo Međedović’s Homeric-style oral epic within Bosniak oral literary heritage in Sandžak. It aims to provide a new, innovative and original interpretation of this phenomenon by situating it within the broader historical and developmental processes of Bosniak literature and culture of the period. Furthermore, the paper advocates for an integrated approach to literary and cultural analysis and interpretation, offering a more comprehensive explanation of how the Homeric-style oral epic by Međedović fits into the larger framework of Bosniak literature and culture as a whole.
