The article examines eating disorders as a result of the emotional deficit experienced in early childhood and the associated internal conflicts. "The lack of warmth, care, and emotional support from loved ones forms deficient attachment patterns and compensatory food dependencies in adulthood." As a result of applying psychodynamic hypnotherapy in the treatment of eating disorders, a relationship with the deficit of emotional states was revealed. When compensating for the emotional state deficit during the treatment process, a stable result was obtained not only in the improvement of eating behavior, but also in other areas of the patient's life.
