This study investigates thetimpact of welding process)parameters and cooling media on the tensile strength of SPHC (Steel Plate Hot Commercial) materials using SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding). Welding is crucial in manufacturing and construction, with parameters like current and cooling media influencing mechanical properties. SPHC samples were welded with currents of 90A, 100A, and 110A, and cooled using air, water, or oil. Tensile strength tests on the welded specimens revealed that both increased current and variations in cooling media affect tensile strength. Air cooling produced the highest tensile strength, with a specimen welded at 110A showing 439.519 MPa. In comparison, water cooling yielded 435.099 MPa and oil cooling resulted in 429.268 MPa, highlighting air as the most effective cooling medium for enhancing tensile strength.
