Electro-chemo-mechanical expansion at metal/electrolyte interfaces is a rate limiting factor in solid-state lithium (SSLiBs) and sodium (SSNaBs) batteries. In this presentation we will explain the roles of composition, structure, and interfaces in achieving extremely high current densities for SSNaBs and SSLiBs of 30 mA/cm 2 and 100 mA/cm 2 , respectively, without dendrites at room temperature and no applied pressure.
