This talk will introduce our work in photocatalysis spanning from plasmonic metals to plasmonic semiconductors. First, we will discuss common features and differences in generation, energetics and lifetime of plasmonic hot electrons and holes created in plasmonic metals to plasmonic semiconductors. Second, we will investigate how plasmonic hot carries generated in metals and semiconductors drive photocatalysis. Third, we will explore the energy transfer from plasmonic materials to non-plasmonic semiconductors.
