The aim of this article is to build understandings about the evaluations of students, from the fifth and sixth grades, about the English classes of a public school in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in 2022 and 2023.For this, I resort to the theoreticalinvestigative-methodological aspects of Exploratory Practice (Miller, 2012), Research in/of/with everyday life (Alves, 2015) and the Evaluation System (Martin; White, 2005).I base my analysis on the Attitude subsystem, on the semantic categories of affection and judgment, to understand the meanings created by the evaluations in the texts written by the students about their English classes. The investigation points to momentary understandings that, when students critically reflect on their daily experiences, new paths open up and new learning opportunities are created to strengthen the relationship between students and teachers.
