Marmara Student Congress on 25th Anniversary: Evaluation of Booklets

Objective: To analyse the 24 years of Marmara Student Congress (MaSCo) and its internal dynamics and reveal the statistics of presented studies.Materials and Methods: Congress booklets were obtained from the website of MaSCo, all of the booklets were read by researchers from the year 2001 to 2024. Presentation types, subjects and origins of studies; workshop numbers, participants’ numbers and origins were evaluated. Results: In 24 years, 23 MaSCo took place. MaSCo 2020 did not take place due to COVID pandemic. 2299 internal, 129 external, 43 studies from EMU; in total 2471 studies were presented. At least 427 workshops and 117 panels/conferences were held. 10520 internal student researchers, 219 EMU student researchers, 486 external student researchers in total 11225 student researchers were welcomed in MaSCo. Ratio of biomedical studies among all studies, animal studies and cell studies show increase throughout years whereas studies from external origins and workshops per participant show decrease. Oral presentation ratio fluctuates between approximately 25 to 50%.Conclusion: MaSCo as the first medical student congress of Türkiye continues its activities for 24 years successfully.
