The effectiveness of legal regulation is largely determined by the quality of normative legal acts developed and adopted. One of the effective mechanisms for ensuring the quality of normative legal acts is the institution of examination, which combines various types of examinations carried out both at the stage of development of normative legal acts and after they enter into legal force. As a result of the research, the author’s definition of ‘institute for examination of normative legal acts (projects)’ was formulated, specific types of examinations were identified and the scope of their implementation was defined, and a proposal was formulated for the adoption of the federal law ‘On expert activities in the field of lawmaking and application of law’.
