Synchronous retrograde replantation method for repairing complete severed of five toes: a 4-year follow-up

Key Clinical MessageToe amputation is usually caused by traffic accidents or industrial injury.Due to its anatomical characteristics, surgical position, and high demands for the surgeon, toe replantation is often abandoned.The severance of the five toes is an extremely challenging injury.The rapid restoration of blood supply to each toe is the key to successful surgery.We successfully treated a patient with complete amputation of the five toes using synchronous retrograde replantation.All five toes survived in the first stage and achieved satisfactory results during a 4-year follow-up.
