Wearable Coaxially-Shielded Metamaterial Drawing inspiration from commercial coaxial cable, Xia Zhu, Ke Wu, Stephan W. Anderson, and Xin Zhang construct a wireless, flexible, lightweight, and cheap metamaterial with an internal coaxially-shielded structure, confining electric field within while possessing a predominant magnetic response for magnetic resonance imaging. The metamaterial is capable of achieving a signal-to-noise ratio comparable to or surpass that of commercial receive coil arrays in some aspects. More details can be found in article number 2313692.
