Artificial Intelligence (AI) is bursting into various fields, including higher education. Its potential to transform teaching, learning and research is increasingly evident. In this context, the need arises to understand how AI impacts the academic productivity of teachers. This systematic review, guided by the PRISMA methodology, seeks to identify and analyze five studies that explore the relationship between AI and higher education. It is hoped that the findings will contribute to a better understanding of the impact of AI on the academic productivity of undergraduate teachers in the Faculty of Economics at the Universidad Autónoma de Chiriquí and generate recommendations for its effective implementation in the university context. For this analysis, the five most cited articles in the Scopus database that meet the criteria of the search equation are used.
