In West Africa, integrating the threats posed by climate change into development policies and actions is undoubtedly the main option for building local economic and social configurations that significantly mitigate climate change impacts. To be efficient, these local resilience to climate change configurations should consider climate change indirect impacts and take into account the main development sectors. In the context of West Africa, risks induced by climate change integration into local development policies will require scientific robust tools that take into account contextual specificities. This article proposes a new multidimensional and multirisk scheme for climate change direct and indirect impacts on the main development sectors integration into the Volta basin local development policies planning and management. The knowledge bodies and decision-making tools of this scheme are developed using the ClimResilience framework methodological tools.Specifically, they consider short-term, medium-term and long-term climate risks integration objectives.Mainly, the results of this article are new scientific developments that could improve the efficiency and impact of climate risks integration into local development plans actions in the Volta basin.
