Okcheon Iseongsansung Fortress is point out as Gulsansung Fortress, which was renovated along with Samnyeonsansung Fortress in 486. House site, burial mounds, and earthenware from the 3rd to 5th centuries have been excavated in Cheongseong and Cheongsan areas as well as in the western Okcheon region and Boeun, supporting the fact that Mahan and Baekje were occupied early. In particular, it was revealed that the road infrastructure surveyed in Seodae-ri was built during this period and continued to be used until Silla occupied it. Between the middle and late 5th century, Silla advanced to the Iseongsansung Fortress and Boeun areas via Hwaryeong and Chupungryeong-ro, and many ruins related to it, such as Samnyeonsansung Fortress and Daeyari Tombs Group, are distributed along the city and Bocheongcheon River side. The plate wall on the west wall of Iseongsansung Fortress was built around the end of the 5th century, and the Kumguri Tombs Group was constructed, and there is a possibility that the Sangye-ri Tombs Group was built early along with the construction of Iseongsansung Fortress. In the 6th and 7th centuries, Silla and Baekje fought in the Okcheon and Boeun areas. At this time, stone shafts were piled up on the outer surface of the plank wall of the west wall of Iseongsansung Fortress, the Sangye-ri Tombs Group continued to be built, and Fortress and tombs were also projected in the Hwanggan, Yeongdong, and Chubu areas of Geumsan. Also, it is now possible to imagine an exchange relationship with Sabeal Small Country or Gammun Small Country due to the ancient vessels excavated in the central mound of Iseongsansung Fortress. The reason for this appears to be the result of the spread of Gaya earthenware in the Nakdong River west area in connection with King Geunchogo southern punishment in the early days. Tension in Silla reached its peak when Baekje Hansung fell to Goguryeo in 475, and a government system around Isseongsansung Fortress was quickly established around Samnyeonsansung Fortress. Isseongsansung Fortress played a role as a Fortress with a constant support system due to its geographical location close to the front line during the Battle of Okcheon that took place between the middle and late 6th century. In particular, Baekje dealt a big blow to Silla by forging Wunghyeon-seong Fortress, but it was also incorporated into the takeover system by maintaining stability of control. It is believed that it played a role in supporting neighboring regions and controlling Paleumsan Mountain and Chupung-ryeong by holding the Bocheongcheon River area during the 7th century.
