Objectives The aim of this study was to classify latent profile of school counselors according to job competencies(counseling, administration, and education) and examinee the differences in supervision expectation and supervisor role expactation among the classified groups. Methods To achieve this, data were collected from 425 school counselors, and latent profile analysis was conducted. Results A total of three latent profiles were identified, and each was named ‘high group,’ ‘middle group,’ and ‘low group’ based on the developmental characteristics. Moreover, the difference in supervision expectations and supervisor's counselor role expectation was not significant. However, in the case of supervisor's advisor and evaluator role, the expectation level of the ‘high group’ was significantly higher than that of the ‘middle group’ and ‘low group’. Conclusions Based on these results, strategies for providing appropriate supervision to school counselors based on their developmental levels were discussed and recommendations for further studies were suggested.
