Analysis of Provincial Difference in Male Throwing Event if National Competition

Purpose of the study was to analyze the provincial difference in performance in throwing event of male national competition. The 1st position holders for men category in throwing events of last ten National games (2010-2019) were considered as the subjects for the present study. The performance of target population was recorded from various secondary sources such as web pages, official site of IOC, Wikipedia, website of different athletics associations, sports journal etc. Then it was converted into standard points with the help of Word athletics recommend “IAAF scoring table” book. The subjects were divided in groups according to province. Then F-test (ANOVA) was applied. The best performance of shot put in men category in National Athletic competition was found in 2015. Haryana state performed the best performance in Shot put men categories. The best performance of Discus Throw in men category in National Athletic competition was found in 2016. Punjab state performed the best performance in long throw men categories. The best performance of Javelin throw in men category in National Athletic competition was found in 2018. Uttar Pradesh state performed the best performance in Javelin throw men categories.The best performance of Hammer throw in men category in National Athletic competition was found in 2016. Rajasthan state performed the best performance in Hammer Throw men categories.
