Resilience is a multifaceted concept that can be defined differently depending on the field of application. The lack of a unified definition of resilience poses challenges to the scientific community and industry stakeholders working within this domain. To close this gap, we conducted a literature review within the social, financial, psychological, infrastructure and general resilience. We used these definitions to construct a survey, which we distributed among resilience experts in academia and industry in Switzerland, Singapore, the Netherlands and New Zealand. We received 89 complete responses, which we used to identify differences among different types of resilience and to propose a unified framework of definition resilience.
