This study focuses on acute respiratory infections (ARI), especially community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), which represents a significant cause of childhood morbidity and mortality in developing countries. Pneumococcal infection is highlighted as one of the main causes, contributing substantially to deaths in children under 5 years of age. The study aims to carry out an epidemiological mapping to identify children hospitalized for complicated pneumonia, analyzing their individual, socioeconomic and health characteristics, with the aim of implementing more effective interventions and reducing the negative impacts of this disease.
