Key clinical messageFahr's disease (FD) is a rare neuropsychiatric disorder identified by distinctive imaging findings. It involves non-atherosclerotic intracerebral calcification at the level of the basal ganglia and other brain regions.Furthermore, it is an inherited neurologic condition, although its molecular genetics have not been thoroughly investigated.Patients usually present with a wide range of symptoms, predominantly movement disorders and cognitive changes. However, seizures are one of the atypical neurological manifestations that may reveal late-onset FD.Herein, we address the case of a 60-year-old man who had FD uncovered by a first-time generalized tonic-clonic seizure. The seizures responded well to treatment with antiepileptic drugs.
