It has as object of study four cartoons published between the years 2020 and 2022 in journalistic vehicles and social networks. The criteria selection of this pieces was based on the presence of typical traits of other discursive genres in the linguistic and/or visual materiality, which directly affects the triggering of humorous effects of meaning. Since humor has as general prerogatives the exploration of the opposition between serious and non-serious, the incongruence between different isotopies, and the surprise effect (Ramos, 2011) in a discursive perspective, it has been conceived as a strategy that permeates several communication situations. In this sense, although it does not always focus on laughter, humor can be understood as the guiding thread of the intentional cartoon project, whose journalistic-media communicative contract orients the restrictions and freedoms of the enunciator in favor of a double aim: to report a public event and, at the same time, to tune the construction of this event with opinion, to capture (Charaudeau, 2008, 2010). Giving that this orientation manifests itself at different textual levels and in the verb-visuality, we intend to analyze how the selected texts explore the intergenericity (Marcuschi, 2008) with humorous purposes without, however, deviating from the contractual axis of the cartoon.
