More important than that is the discovery of popular heritage, both literary and linguistic, including the inherited spoken language. The latter was neglected by authors and denied by those who came after them though it is alive and still used by speakers in their traditions and customs. Ancient scholars dealt with Arabic dialects in their studies from different eras and specializations. No detailed chapters were provided, but rather scattered excerpts in various types of writings. However, in modern times, the works of some writers have proven that Classical Arabic has a counterpart in some Arabic dialects, including Yemeni dialects. Hence, the following research questions were formulated: What is the origin of the dialects of Yemen? What is the relationship between Yemeni dialects and classical Arabic? To answer the questions, this study has been conducted. Relevant references written by authors who know the spoken language of Yemen were relied on.
