We prove the local Lipschitz regularity for solutions to an orthotropic q Laplacian-type equation in the Heisenberg group. The technique we apply is largely inspired by the works of X. Zhong, where the q-Laplacian was studied in the Heinsenberg group and the H\"older regularity of gradient was proved. Due to the degeneracy of the present equation, this regularity of the gradient is not even known in the Euclidean setting, and only its boundedness is expected.
