Introduction Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many Moroccan companies have continued to embrace remote work, resulting in a profound transformation of the nature of work and telecommuters. The objective of our work is to describe the psychological impact associated with the implementation of remote work in companies within the Greater Casablanca region. Methods We conducted a cross-sectional study between August 1st and September 1st, 2022, involving thirty semi-structured interviews with a population of employees who had been engaged in remote work for a minimum of six months in the Greater Casablanca region. Results We observed that remote work enables improved autonomy at work for 86.6% and a sense of tranquility for 56.6% of the surveyed employees. Approximately 66.6% of telecommuters find that their positions are either well-suited or even better than in-person. Among these, 75% emphasize the crucial role of the occupational health service in implementing remote work. Discussion Overall, the findings of this study demonstrate a positive impact on the psychological well-being and quality of life of the surveyed employees. Conclusion Remote work offers advantages to the workers who experience its implementation. It provides telecommuters with the opportunity to navigate professional reorganization and acquire new skills. However, remote work can also have adverse effects if not overseen by a preventive program, which should be established by the employer.
