Background There are various modes of provision of a comprehensive EAP with their respective pros & cons, but during the current times, digital mental health intervention is often considered the best. An assessment can justify the application, relevance & significance of digital mental health intervention in workplace in perspective of ideal EAP. A significant number of evaluation studies of this digital platform based implementation strategy of EAP based on facilitators & barriers, employee engagement, effectiveness & efficiency are there. Methods The literature PubMed, MedKnow, Medline, Science Direct, Cochrane databases were searched from 1996 to 2021 using the keywords “Digital”, “Mental Health”, “EAP”, “Workplace” together with “Wellness”. Papers in English were included. 7 most relevant articles were selected for the meta-analysis. Results In a study, digital mental health interventions had a statistically significant effect post intervention on both psychological well-being (g=0.37, 95% CI 0.23-0.50) and work effectiveness (g=0.25, 95% CI 0.09-0.41) compared with the control. A research showed reduction in general anxiety symptom severity, SMD of -0.75 (95% CI -0.98 to -0.52) showing a significantly greater decrease in general anxiety following the experimental intervention, with considerable heterogeneity (I2 = 78%), compared to therapist contact resulted in a non-significant difference (SMD -0.31, 95% CI -0.65 to 0.03; I2 = 3%). Discussion and Conclusions While there are some barriers to engagement of digital modality in workplaces, but pros definitely outnumber the cons. Thus statistical significant results correlate & establish the fact that digital mental health intervention is better in comparison to other modality.
