Aim: To compare the multiple scoring systems in evaluating the prognosis of Acute Pancreatitis in a Tertiary care hospital. Objectives: To study the parameters of various scoring systems in determining and predicting the severity and mortality of Acute Pancreatitis. Materials & Methods: The presentstudy is a prospective study of 100 cases ofAcute pancreatitis admitted in Osmania General Hospital during the study period from November 2020 to November 2022. Inclusion Criteria: All patients diagnosed with acute pancreatitis based on Acute abdominal pain with acute pancreatitis, Elevated serum amylase more than 3 times the normal value, Age more than 18 years and less than 65 years and both sexes. Conclusion: Ranson's scoring system was found to be the best to predict the outcome in acute pancreatitis compared to Apache II in our study. BISAP is a good bedside indicator with high specicity. ModiedCTseverity index is highly sensitive in predicting severity of acute pancreatitis.Advancing age, leukocytosis, hypocalcemia andincrease inLDHlevelswere theotherfactorsfoundtobe signicantinpredictingseverityof acutepancreatitisinourstudy.
