Purpose: This study aims to critically analyze the main issues emerging in domestic EduTech discussions based on Illich's concept of tools, and to explore educational directions. Method: A systematic literature review was conducted on nine studies that prominently feature critical perspectives on EduTech, along with Illich's book, 『Tools for Conviviality』. Results: The discussion on EduTech, which is leaning towards technological determinism, needs to break away from the myth of the infinite potential of science and technology. It is necessary to retool EduTech from manipulative tools to convivial tools and to empower educational stakeholders with autonomous authority to alleviate the vague anxieties present in the field. Conclusion: Future EduTech discussions should be directed towards multidimensional considerations of the intrinsic value of education. The study suggests enhancing EduTech educational policies and utilization plans based on the concept of conviviality.
