The article offers an analysis of selected vocabulary from the dialect of the Bulgarian Catholics living in the region of Belene, placing the study in a wider dialectal con-text. The author argues for the need to publish a dictionary of this dialect, stressing its similarity to the dialect of the Banat Bulgarians. She illustrates this claim with examples from several lexical groups: Christianity, animals, life, nature, diseases, the human body.
