Coinage metals catalyze energy release from the Dewar isomer of 1,2-dihydroazaborinine—a promising molecular solar thermal (MOST) storage system, as shown by Holger F. Bettinger, Ivana Fleischer and co-workers in their Research Article (e202405818). Mechanistic studies corroborated by computations provide insights into the catalytic system, while showcasing the first crystal structure of the energy-rich Dewar dihydroazaborinine isomer coordinated to Ag(I).
