This study aimed to examine how accessible mobile applications are when created from popular Figma templates. Figma templates play a crucial role in simplifying the design and development of mobile apps. However, it's important to check if these templates follow accessibility standards, avoiding significant issues like poor contrast and missing descriptive labels on interactive elements. We selected ten widely used Figma templates and generated Android applications from them to create executable APKs. Then, we used Firebase Test Lab to evaluate the accessibility of these templates. We discovered 738 accessibility issues, averaging 7.61 issues per screen, indicating that all templates had accessibility problems. These results highlight the need for template designers to improve aspects of the interface that might negatively impact usability and accessibility. It also raises concerns that these issues may persist in applications created from these templates. As far as we know, this research represents the first effort to conduct such an evaluation, highlighting critical areas for improvement in template design of mobile applications.
