Gim (Porphyra yezoensis), Sea mustard (Undaria pinnatifida), Green laver (Ulva lactuca) Gamtae (Ecklonia cava), and Green sea fingers (Codium fragile) are major edible seaweeds in Korea, and the consumption has been increased continuously. However, the values for mineral supplements and the risk of toxic metals and trihalomethanes were not investigated. Thus, the 23 nutritional and 5 toxic minerals and five trihalomethanes were analyzed in the Korean seaweeds. The seaweed intake contributed 23.1 mg of Ca, 21.8 mg of Na, 11.3 mg of Mg, 8.4 mg of P, and 7.9 mg of K per person/day as below 5% of the recommended nutritional intake for minerals. In addition, the detected toxic elements such as Al and As showed below 5% of pTWI, and five trihalomethanes (CHCl 3 , CHBrCl 2 , CHBr 2 Cl, CHI 3 , and CHBr 3 ) were not detected in all dried seaweeds in the Korean market.
