In western Switzerland, a strong geothermal anomaly was detected in the 1981 Eclépens-1 well. At Swiss Geo Energy, we completed a pioneering 3D seismic acquisition project for geothermal exploration. The objective of the project is to identify reservoir targets, provide an estimation of the geothermal resources, and design wells for operating the first combined cycle geothermal power plant in Switzerland. Results of the seismic acquisition and best practices are presented in this paper.
