The acoustic emission method is used as a means of analyzing the state of materials and structures, non-destructive testing and diagnosing them during operation. An important advantage over other methods is that it reacts only to the development of truly dangerous defects and is capable of monitoring large volumes and surfaces without scanning them. The article presents the results of the development of methods and algorithms designed to analyze the energy characteristics of acoustic signals. The use of spectral methods is justified.
