The purpose of this study was to understand the relationship between love, number of children, and level of emotional intelligence. Specifically, it investigated whether emotional intelligence affects the number of children and how it correlates with the love components of passion, intimacy and commitment. The results indicate that emotional intelligence is significantly related to commitment and relationship duration. On the other hand, passion correlates negatively with the number of children, relationship duration. Intimacy shows a negative relationship only with the number of children.
