The current era presents a population crisis, characterized by overpopulation or underpopulation in many countries. Overpopulation has negative impacts on social and economic development, leading to a reduction in the standard of living for individuals, families, and society at large. Conversely, a small population negatively affects the economic and political situation of societies. The aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between demographic, social, and cultural factors and birth control decisions among couples in Erbil city. This study examines factors such as delayed marriage and education level, which significantly influence the functions of society. Women's high levels of education increase their awareness and encourage their involvement in the workforce, affecting the structure and movement of Kurdish society. To achieve these objectives, the research utilized questionnaires to collect data and information from 383 couples of different age groups in Erbil city, using the descriptive method for data collection. The results suggest that demographic, social, and cultural factors play a critical role in determining birth control decisions among the sample population in Erbil city.
