Copper(I) thiocyanate (CuSCN) is among the most robust hole transport materials used in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, diethyl sulfide (DES), the solvent used for CuSCN, damages the 3-dimensional (3D) perovskite surface during the deposition of CuSCN, affecting photovoltaic performance. This study examined the effect of 2-dimensional (2D) perovskite formed on the 3D perovskite in suppressing DES damage. Octylammonium-based 2D perovskites containing greater amounts of Br exhibited high stability against DES dissolution and increased the power conversion efficiency of CuSCN-based PSCs from 14.2% to 17.0% and their photostability from 2 to 30 days.
