Beams are a very essential part of Civil Engineering as they maintain the structural integrity of the building and they play a very vital role in the construction of buildings. Without beams, the structure would simply collapse. Such beams require a rigiorous design process and proper analysis. This can be done on paper but it can be done even more efficiently when we bring computer science to the table. This preprint demonstrates how to use Python to calculate the support reactions at a Simply Supported Beam, which will later help the engineers analyse the beam and carefully design it.
