Hypertext as a Means of Developing Foreign Language Reading Competence in Students of Postgraduate Military Courses at Educational Organizations of Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs

The issue of developing foreign-language reading competence stems from the need for domestic education in the effective training of highly qualified scientific personnel. The author reveals the importance of using hypertexts in teaching foreign languages as part of postgraduate military courses. The reader’s diary is considered as a tool for achieving an educational goal, contributing to the development of independent thinking and expanding knowledge of lexical and grammatical material. The article presents the techniques and methods of organizing the learning process, describes the levels of formation of the reader’s competence.
