This work investigates the effect of temperatures and salt water exposure on the fatigue performance of Glass Fibre-polymer Composite and composite-to-steel interfaces. Four-point end notched flexure tests are employed to gauge interface fracture behavior under the fatigue loading, along with cyclic tensile tests for material assessment. A digital image correlation system is employed to track the progressive crack development on the steel-composite interface, while an extensometer paired with thermocouples are integrated in the fatigue testing of the composite material. As the result the fatigue crack propagation behavior and material fatigue performance are compared between reference and temperature/moisture exposed specimens.
