Reducing Emissions in Road Construction Rubble Transport

We present our entry to a competition in Norway centered around reducingGreenhouse gas emissions stemming from the transport of rubble at roadconstruction sites. To this end, we were provided data collected by aNorwegian construction company, relating to the machines operating at some oftheir construction sites. Based on this data, we present some of ourinitial observations on the nature of this data, and present hypothesesas to how one might (a) optimize the flow of traffic to- and from arubble loading site, such that trucks arrive when and only whenneeded, and (b) arrive at an optimal driving scheme between arubble loading- and dump site.
