This paper explores the simulation of computer network operations within a specific division, using the Systems Software Department at Dniprovsky State Technical University as a case study. NetCracker (NetCracker Technology, USA) and Cisco Packet Tracer (Cisco Systems, USA) serve as computer-aided engineering tools for modeling and analyzing computer networks. These applications enable users to select appropriate equipment from an integrated database for network engineering and provide capabilities for adding and configuring new types of equipment. Both NetCracker and Cisco Packet Tracer offer valuable simulation tools, including features for defining traffic characteristics across various protocols and visually monitoring these parameters. Additionally, they support the collection of statistical data and the generation of reports on experimental outcomes. The functionalities demonstrated by these systems highlight their potential utility for research and educational purposes in the fields of engineering, modeling, and analysis of computer networks.
