In order to solve the problem of tip vortex cavitation and tip clearance cavitation in pump jet propeller, axial groove structures are arranged on the inner wall of the duct. The effects of groove structures on tip pressure, tip vortex intensity, tip vortex core pressure and hydrodynamic performance are investigated by numerical calculation method. Numerical tests demonstrate that duct groove not only significantly increase tip end pressure, reduce tip vortex intensity, suppress tip vortex cavitation and tip clearance cavitation, but also has little impact on propulsive efficiency. The research provides a new technological path and technical support for noise and vibration reduction of pump jet propeller.
