BACKGROUND: 'High-risk' metastatic prostate cancer frequently develops into castration-resistant disease and remains incurable with a grim prognosis, whereas localized prostate cancer can be cured by local treatment. AIMS:To assess the dynamic interrelationship of circulating variables in patients with localized and metastasized prostate cancer.METHODOLOGY: 37 men with clinically diagnosed localized prostate cancer from the Jinnah Hospital in Lahore, Pakistan, 13 men with prostate metastases, and 50 men (n=100) from the healthy subject group of men between the ages of 58 and 78 without any clinical symptoms of the prostate were chosen for the study. After obtaining informed consent, a venous blood sample was taken and kept at -70°C until it was analyzed.Using the proper techniques, the levels of the variables SOD, MDA, CAT, GSH, GRx, Isoprostanes, 4-HNE, and 8OhdG were assessed. RESULTS:In patients with localized and metastatic prostate disease, there were very significant (p=0.05)differences in the expression of inflammatory and oxidative stress-related cytokines in both localized and metastatic phases.A significant elevation was found in Prostate cancer patients. CONCLUSION:Designing novel targets of these major variables can minimize the incidence of localized and malignant prostate cancer patients.
