Based on Martin & White"s Attittude of Appraisal Theory(2005), this paper analyzes the attitude resources in Chinese Government-owned online newspaper related to pandas in Korea and abroad (except Korea) from 2020 to 2023, and analyzes the reason for the growing proportion of positive resources in Chinese Government-owned online newspaper related to pandas in Korea. According to the results of the study, the positive shift in attitudes towards pandas in Korea in Chinese news can be attributed to improvements in breeding methods facilitated by communication and the successful implementation of discourse and promotional strategies. In addition, the analysis of the differences shows that the two types of news texts show some differences in the classification of Attitude, which is related to diverse promotional tactics employed by Korea, the success of discourse construction regarding pandas in Korea, various topics, and high overseas popularity of the pandas in Korea. This study can be considered significant in providing insights into the construction of discourse related to pandas residing abroad and their promotion and breeding.
