This descriptive survey study aimed to identify the factors influencing the retention intentions of emergency room nurses. The participants were 150 emergency room nurses of six general hospitals. Data were analyzed using independent sample t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression using SPSS Statistics 25.0. Job embeddedness (β=0.42, p<.001) and the type of emergency room, specifically regional emergency medical center (β=0.22, p=.037), were significant factors affecting retention intention among these nurses. These variables explained 29% of the variance in retention intention (F=7.21, p<.001). The study results provide basic data for exploring ways to improve the retention intention of emergency room nurses. Future research is recommended to identify the factors influencing job embeddedness and examine the differences in retention intention among emergency room nurses based on the type and region of the emergency room.
