Patriotic education and the system of large-scale holidays

The article shows that the origins of patriotism go back to ancient times, becoming especially evident during the emergence of statehood. Initially, each nation put its own specific content into this concept, which largely depended on the conditions of socio-political development. The term “patriotism” carries a certain semantic load, most often defined in general terms as love for the Motherland, Fatherland, and people. The author examines the opportunities for developing and maintaining a sense of patriotism that are associated with holding large-scale holidays. The materials can be useful in the training of specialists in all majors and can be used at the university as part of awareness-raising work.
