In this paper, an all-fiber remote acoustic positioning system utilizing multi-wavelength erbium-doped fiber ring laser (EDFRL) for sound source localization is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Combined with dense wavelength-division multiplexer (DWDM), the EDFRL could achieve multi-wavelength wide-spectrum output under "non-excited state". The sensing structure is constructed with multiple sensors in hybrid M-Z and Sagnac optical fiber interferometer for sound source localization. Remote sensing in harsh environments is easy to implement due to the separation of electrical and optical modules. The system has wide sensing range with the localization error below 4.15 cm.
