This paper discusses the utilization of the chaotic mapping snow ablation optimizer (CSAO) algorithm in sparse antenna arrays. In this paper, we use the following method to optimize the element position of an array mode with a minimum sidelobe level (SLL) by keeping the current amplitude equal to 1 and the phase invariance. This study presents multiple design examples to showcase the efficacy of CSAO (chaotic mapping snow ablation optimizer) in optimizing sparse arrays for achieving array models with the lowest SLL and precise positioning in a specified direction. Comparing the optimized results with those obtained by other popular evolutionary algorithms, it can be concluded that CSAO algorithm has lower SLL reduction, so its optimization ability is relatively stronger. In summary, this study proves the feasibility of CSAO algorithm in optimizing thin array and other problems of electromagnetism.
